Hunting for Truffles in Spain

No artisan is more delicate and meticulous than nature. She contributes her time, patience, and love to create the most delicate of all fungi, truffles.

Possessing over 100 different scents, truffles have been a culinary delicacy since ancient Egypt, and people like Napoleon Bonaparte, Louis XIV, and even Oprah Winfrey have fallen in love with its flavor and aroma.

Follow along with Fran Glaría of Traveling Steps as he joins truffle master Chenco and his amazing dogs (Rum and Trufa) as they hunt for truffles in northern Spain.

Fran Glaria

Fran Glaria was born and raised in Pamplona, part of the Basque country in northern Spain.  His passions for history, art and food, led him to tour guiding. Over 20 years ago, he started a small local guiding company in his hometown. This company evolved into designing tours in the Basque region, and also into organizing tours for the Running of the Bulls festival in Pamplona.
